Job Description:

Function Overview

The Business Manager role provides organizational and management support to the Core Systems Operations (CSO) leadership team. This position requires strong relationship management skills to build true partnerships across both CSO and our partners. Additional responsibilities include executive-level reporting, resource planning, and budget management.

Job Purpose / Background:

The role resides within the Client Technical Services (CTS) team, which is part of Core Systems Operations (CSO), responsible for maintaining system performance and uptime for Aladdin and other critical applications used at BlackRock. Additionally, CSO supports over 150 external organizations which leverage Aladdin through BlackRock Solutions (BRS) offerings ( ).

CTS plays an essential role in integrating cross-functional teams in support of Aladdin, providing technical support for Aladdin customers, leading the technical implementation of Aladdin at new BRS clients and acting as the internal liaison for BRS Client Relationship Mangers. Additionally, CTS owns critical governance functions such as Software and Infrastructure Change Management, as well as leading strategic initiatives through its Project Management function.

CTS is a fast-paced team operating in a dynamic environment and provides the right individual with challenging work and an opportunity to lead multiple groups in achieving a wide variety of objectives.

The candidate will be responsible for supporting the CSO leadership team in driving forward cultural initiatives, meeting reporting mandates, and otherwise ensuring the effective operation of the organization.


The candidate will be responsible for managing the following, on behalf of the CSO leadership team, ensuring operational efficiency:

  • Budget Management

  • Expense Management

  • Operating plan & business progress reviews

  • Executing staffing requisitions

  • Managing HR processes in accordance with Firm policies

  • Management Reporting


  • At least 5+ years of relevant work experience in a business or operational role

  • Experience navigating a complex matrix of accountability and stakeholders; ability to work extremely well with all business partners and senior leadership, globally

  • Superb organization, time and project management skills; ability to manage multiple complex projects at the same time

  • Ability to clearly communicate objectives across a range of stakeholders and to articulate the rationale behind those goals

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment independently

  • Results driven with a high level of attention to detail
